Mr. Skoglund graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelors and from UW-Milwaukee with a Masters - both as a math major. He has nearly fifty years of teaching and educational administrative experience, including serving as principal at Heritage for six years. Phil has co-authored and produced practical instructional materials focused on maintenance and retention of knowledge and skills in five subject areas.
Phil's family and church, Racine Bible Church, are his primary interests outside of teaching. He has four children (helicopter pilot, string pedagogue, graphic designer, vicar of a church) and three grandchildren. His youngest boys, Erik and Lars, attended Heritage in the early 2000s and his daughter, Maja, taught strings here as well. Reading is a favorite hobby, with an emphasis on nonfiction. Travel, especially with family, is a growing enjoyment.
