  • Ensuring the Right Fit

Heritage Christian Schools' admissions process is a mutual sharing of information to ensure the right fit between your family and the school.
Our admissions process has been designed to acquaint you with our school. We hope to provide opportunities for students and families to get to know the HCS community better—and for us to become familiar with you.

  • The Orientation

For most families, the application process begins through an introduction to our school. This may include visiting us at a school fair or open house, calling us to request materials, or to schedule a tour. All prospective families must complete a formal orientation scheduled through the Admissions Office. At this meeting with the parents or guardians, and preferably the student(s), spiritual, educational, and philosophical expectations will be discussed. A tour of the facility will be given. The orientation will likely last between 60-90 minutes. After the orientation both parties should have a good understanding if HCS will be a good fit between the family and the school. If the school sees no problem with a continuation of the process, it is then up to the family to fill out an application form and return it to the school.
  • The Application

Our receipt of your completed application and application fee starts your Admissions file. We require a letter of recommendation from your pastor or someone who has mentored you spiritually (when no pastor is available). A copy of previous school records/transcripts must be sent to the HCS main office. The application includes opportunities for parents/guardians to give a brief testimony of faith, and read and sign our "Commitments" and "Statement of Faith". Please complete the admissions inquiry form to obtain application materials, pastor's recommendation form, and tuition rates.
  • The Testing

Once the completed application is returned, the student will be set up for testing at the school. We require entrance exam results to help us gauge potential for academic success and to help in course placement. Tests are approximately one hour in length.
  • The Final Interview

After testing is complete and the Pastor Recommendation Form has been returned (by the pastor), a final interview is set between the family and the principal of the oldest-entering child. At this interview, test results are reviewed and the principal has the opportunity to become better acquainted with the student and the family. During this time, Middle and High School students will discuss scheduling of classes. The principal will also discuss payment options for your tuition and fees. A financial contract must be signed in order to make the admissions process complete and for the student to be officially enrolled at Heritage.
  • The Timeline

The entire admissions process can take up to 3 weeks to complete and families are encouraged to apply early into the recruiting season. During the school year, applications are considered on a space-available basis. For the coming school year, orientations are scheduled beginning in April.
  • For Kindergarten

The applicant must be five-years-old on or before September 1st of the school year. Qualified younger siblings of current HCS students will receive priority in acceptance prior to April 1. Following April 1, students will be accepted, all things being equal, in the order applications are received.

Other Important Notes

Parents must be in agreement with and support of the "HCS Statement of Faith", "Commitments", and "Mission Statement" without reservation. They must desire for their children to be educated accordingly.
