Since the fall season of 2017, the Booster Club has recognized one outstanding athlete who has shown athletic success, consistent academic achievement, and reflects a Christ-centered servant leadership character with grace and humility.
Alexandra Brown, Class of 2020, is the winner of the Outstanding Athlete Award for the Winter 2019/20 season. She was the captain of Heritage’s cheer team and displayed great versatility in every skills category. Alex leads by example with humility, commitment, a team-minded attitude, and God-centeredness; qualities that we are delighted to affirm with this award.
Tyler Towberman, Class of 2020, is the Outstanding Athlete for the Fall 2019 season. Ty, a
co-captain of the Varsity Boys’ Soccer team, is a true leader. Throughout his four years as a starter, he has shown his servant-heart through his care about others. Because of his
Christ-like example on and off the field, Tyler is worthy of this honor.
David Go, Class of 2020, was named the Outstanding Athlete for the Spring 2019 Season because of his excellence on the baseball diamond. As a pitcher he led the conference in strikeouts and innings pitched, while being a great source of stability and inspiration to his teammates. Demonstrating his versatility, David was a dominant center fielder and at the plate, he led the team in nearly every offensive category and held the highest batting average in the entire conference. David's quiet leadership both on and off the field, as well as his outstanding play make him a natural recipient of this award.
Makayla McIntyre, Class of 2019, was named the Outstanding Athlete for the 2018/19 Winter Season because of her hard work, dedication, and leadership skills both on and off the basketball court. She serves as a spiritual compass for her teammates, always ready to lend a listening ear and encouragement. Makayla is held in high esteem by everyone she plays with or is coached by, making her the ideal candidate for this honor.
Ezra King, Class of 2019, was named the Booster Club's Outstanding Athlete for the 2018-19 Winter Season. He was noted as a "coach's dream player" for his willingness to do whatever was asked of him. Ezra's positive attitude is noted not just by his teammates, but his competitors as well. The leadership skills he displays and the way he inspires others make him a very deserving candidate for this award.
Robert Obst, Class of 2019, was a 4-year starter and captain of the Boys Varsity Soccer team during his Junior and Senior years. Known for his ability to lead by example, he frequently played out of his natural position for the betterment of the team and pulled the team together during the summer for Captain's Practices. Because of his selflessness and enthusiasm for the game, it was easy to name Robby as the Fall 2018 Outstanding Athlete.
Caleb Taylor, Class of 2020, hit leadoff most of the season, pitched, played shortstop and centerfield on our Varsity Baseball team. His character is above reproach, and he exudes contagious joy whenever he takes the field. He is always looking out for his teammates' physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being. Caleb’s servant leadership and character have earned him the Spring 2018 Athlete Award.
Brandon Angles, Class of 2018, was presented the 2017/18 Winter Athlete Award because of his character on and off the court on our Varsity Basketball team. He was awarded Honorable Mention All-Conference during his senior year by the Midwest Classic Conference. Brandon showed tremendous growth as an athlete as well as a leader. He is very deserving of this award.
Raegan Vincent, Class of 2018 is the recipient of the Outstanding Athlete Award for the Winter 2017/18 season. She stepped into a young cheer team, embracing a leadership role throughout the season. She regularly provided help to problem-solve challenges that the team met along the way, ensuring that every member had the opportunity to grow. Her positive attitude and encouraging spirit makes Raegan an ideal candidate for this award.
Hailey Linton is not only a naturally talented athlete but also a humble, kind and giving teammate. From her encouraging cheers on behalf of her teammates to spiritual leadership on the Varsity Soccer team and investment in the Middle School cross country team, she exemplifies the Christ-centered leadership we strive for at Heritage. We are proud to grant Hailey the Fall 2017 Outstanding Athlete award.
