What We Believe
If you want to figure out what an organization stands for, you might read its mission statement.  A famous school once had the mission: “Everyone shall consider as the main end of his life and studies, to know God and Jesus Christ, which is eternal life.”  That college is now known as Harvard University.
If you want to know what really holds up the mission, look at the statement of faith (if there is one).  It likely won’t be short or pithy, but it should reveal the bedrock beliefs of the institution.
If you want to know what we believe at Heritage Christian Schools, look at our statement of faith.  This document establishes the roots of the school. 
Recently our school board reviewed this statement and affirmed its message.  While a few minor changes were made, none changed its intent or meaning.
One change was to state clearly that salvation is only found in Jesus Christ (#4).  Wording from the previous statement, which referred to the regenerative work of the Holy Spirit, was moved to the portion talking about the work of the Holy Spirit (#6).
Due to the fact that we believe all of the Bible to inspired, infallible, and authoritative (#1), we removed one statement about the Genesis account of creation.  Our belief about what Scripture says about creation has not changed – we believe that just as we believe all of the Bible.  Therefore, the extra statement about Genesis was redundant.
All board members and staff sign an agreement that they will follow the statement of faith.  Parents see this during the admissions process and agree that they are willing to have their students trained in accordance to it.
By God’s grace and the perseverance of godly leaders, these statements will stand the test of time.

Heritage Christian Schools, Inc. (HCS) is a co-educational, PK-12 program, located in the greater metropolitan Milwaukee area in Wisconsin.  HCS operates as a non-stock, non-profit corporation under Sec. 501(c)(3). HCS is an independent Christian school with a self-perpetuating board of directors.
