Educational Student Support
Helping students grow through individualized support, thoughtful accommodations, skill development, and Christ-centered care.
Supporting Students as Whole Learners
Heritage Christian Schools desires to help students grow academically, spiritually, socially, and personally. Educational Student Support exists to assist students who benefit from additional academic support, learning strategies, accommodations, or targeted interventions.
Our goal is to partner with students, families, and teachers so that students are known, supported, appropriately challenged, and equipped to make meaningful progress.

How We Support Students
Individualized Support
Students may receive support based on documented learning needs, classroom performance, teacher observations, and family partnership.
Skill Development
Support may focus on executive functioning, organization, study skills, reading, writing, math, and academic confidence.
Teacher Partnership
Support staff work with classroom teachers to help students access instruction, strengthen skills, and grow in independence.
Educational Support Services
Academic Support
Students may receive academic support through targeted instruction, classroom accommodations, small-group support, learning strategies, and regular monitoring of progress.
Student Accommodation Plans
When appropriate, Heritage may develop student support plans that outline reasonable accommodations, classroom strategies, and support structures designed to help students succeed.
Collaboration with Families
Families are important partners in the support process. Communication among parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff helps ensure that students are supported consistently and thoughtfully.
Areas of Support
Reading & Writing
Support may include reading comprehension, fluency, written expression, grammar, vocabulary, and writing organization.
Mathematics
Students may receive assistance with math foundations, problem-solving, concept development, and academic confidence.
Executive Functioning
Students may be supported in organization, planning, assignment completion, time management, and study habits.
Classroom Access
Reasonable accommodations may help students participate more effectively in classroom instruction and assessments.
Transition Support
Support may help students navigate transitions between grade levels, academic expectations, and school routines.
Confidence & Independence
Students are encouraged to grow in perseverance, self-advocacy, responsibility, and ownership of learning.
Partnership with Parents and Teachers
Educational Student Support works best when school and home communicate clearly and consistently. Parents provide important insight into their child’s strengths, needs, history, and growth. Teachers provide classroom observations, instructional context, and progress information.
Together, this partnership helps identify appropriate support, monitor progress, and encourage students toward greater academic confidence and independence.
Support with Purpose
Known and Supported
Students are more than academic data points. They are image-bearers of God with unique strengths, needs, gifts, and growth opportunities.
Challenged and Encouraged
Support is designed to help students grow without lowering the expectation that they continue developing responsibility, perseverance, and academic ownership.
Prepared for Growth
The goal of support is not simply to complete assignments, but to help students develop skills, confidence, and independence for future learning.
